Ingredients 

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Heraclea Mature Harvest Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 bunch parsley, chopped
  • black cumin seeds, topping

 

Steps

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, yogurt, egg white, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Mix well. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. The dough should be pliable but not sticky.

  3. Prepare the Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese and chopped parsley. Adjust the quantities to taste.

  4. Assemble the Pies: Divide the dough into small, equal-sized pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten it into a circle. Place a spoonful of the feta cheese and parsley mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling, shaping it into a half-moon or triangle. Press the edges to seal.

  5. Prepare for Baking: Place the filled dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the egg yolk and sprinkle with black cumin seeds.

  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown.

  7. Serve: Let the pies cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious Feta Cheese Pie!
